Ever wondered where RA:APB started? Well, you can see for yourself! Back in 2002, two gents known as Agent Gibson and 13f7h4nd3d (Lefthanded) hatched an idea to build a Red Alert 1 themed mod for Renegade. This was a bold idea, as Renegade had only released earlier that same year. But they got to work, and Renegade Alert was born. Unlike all later versions which are "total conversions" aka standalone games, this initial release is a "pkg mod", or single-file self-contained mod, which was common in those days. It makes use of Westwood's built-in mod-loader, which works by using Renegade as a foundation, pulling what it needs from the base game, and loading new (modified) content on top of it to produce the intended experience. To play: (Renegade is required, version does not matter) Extract the .pkg file from the .7z file in the download. Paste it into your Renegade/data folder, and then run the game. Host a multiplayer game, and on the "map cycle" selection screen, choose "RedAlertMod" from the oft-ignored dropdown menu at the top labeled "Mod package". A single map will then appear in the list - ra_keep_off_the_grass - which you will want to double click to move into the rotation list. Click "start game" and travel in time all the way back to the dawn of Renegade modding! Enjoy!

This is the current public beta version of the W3D-Asterisk Connect Tool - A direct connect tool built to be a spiritual successor to the legacy RenIP connect tool. This tool is compatible with all Renegade W3D-engine mods. It includes: A universal server connect tool, compatible with all Renegade-based mods on the W3D engine. A universal single-player game launcher. Save an entry for all of your W3D-based games and easily run them from here! The ability to save multiple server profiles for quickly changing between your various favorite games and servers. Multiple config options (with many more to come!) so that you can have things just the way you like them. Adding execution arguments to the game - useful for developers! An IRC !auth feature for players with protected nicknames. No more joining IRC just to run one command and leave, this will do it for you! GSA Query (functional but incomplete). Many features are still being developed. Stay tuned for updates! Design choice notes: For simplicity's sake, I have chosen to not attempt to disallow the user to delete saved items in the Games and IRC Profiles lists even if those items are currently associated with a Server Profile (this will break the associated profiles). There are warnings, but the user may do as they wish (since they can manually edit the file anyway). I have also chosen to not force uniqueness in IRC Profiles. Due to the way it is coded currently, this makes sense as these profiles do not have actual names but rather are identified by a concatenated string of all contained information, minus the password. I hope to fix this in the future. Still to come! Data management rewrite (for saving/loading all the user-entered data) GSA query improvements Themes (re-worked, better than before!) Bug fixes

A prototype replacement for RenegadeEx and XCC mixer built upon the W3DHub code libraries which intends to resolve the deficits of both those tools whilst also introducing brand new features. Currently it features a simple tabbed interface which allows you to view the list of files in any W3D MIX (or DAT) archive and extract one or more files from the archive onto your disk. It will also show a preview image for any TGA or DDS files when they are selected. This pack contains all of the purchase icons somewhat faithfully remade in HD! For the characters I used W3D Viewer and the animation files h_a_a0a0.w3d and h_b_a0a0.w3d in conjunction with the character models to grab them in their standby states. For the vehicles, I imported all of the vehicle models into 3DS Max and manually adjusted them to match as close to their icons as possible. I then used W3D Viewer and adjusted the perspective and lighting (max ambient) then set an all-green background (R 0, G 255, B 0) for render screen capturing. I imported the screenshots into Photoshop and made additional tweaks as needed then exported in DDS format. These blend very well with the originals and do not appear out of place when used with maps that utilize custom icons. Included as extra content are blank templates and a text document detailing the Photoshop settings that I used for certain effects and adjustments. A ReadMe.txt file is included with additional information and installation steps.

Included here are variations for the map boundary texture. To install the appropriate textures of your choosing, copy the red and green boundary DDS files from the folder of its description into your game's data directory. For example, if you want to make the red boundary invisible but the green one visible at 2 its normal viewing distance, copy caution_boundary_red.dds from the "Invisible" folder and caution_boundary_green.dds from the "2x Visibility Distance" folder. Included variations: 2x Visibility Distance 50% Opacity 25% Opacity Invisible The PSD source file is included if you wish to make your own. Keep in mind the image has mip maps included in the main canvas, so when you export to dds, generate DXT-5 and use existing mip maps!!

An approved and custom HUD for Interim Apex. Quite a popular HUD in the renegade but becoming harder and harder to find. This HUD was originally not created by me. I took some of the Old APB HUD Metal Edges and implemented it around the corners of the layout. Features include - Better Radar Layout with less intrusive background - Darker GDI Gold and Nod Red Text to help display better on your screen. Also brighter Mutant Green displays on radar to see Viceroids better. - Custom Icons to help display Vehicles, Buildings, Infantry and Beacons better. - The numbering of your Armor is displayed more clearly - Metal Edging alongside the HUD Layout to help better define the box sectors. To install, simply follow these instructions. You're going to take the files from the folder and drop them into your IA DATA folder. Navigation there is as follows. This PC>Computer R (C:)>Program Files (x86)>W3Dhub>Games>ia-release>IAFiles>InterimApex When Interim Apex is updated. You will have to redownload this and install it again. This is due to the update replacing all the files over again. I apologize for the inconvenience. (Big thanks to MoltenJam for enabling the text for weapons and Dblaney1 for fixing it up so it actually works with the IA UI!)

This modification replaces APB EVA voice files with the classic Red Alert EVA, which was used in versions prior to Gamma. However, many announcements are simplified as a result; all buildings report as "base under attack/structure destroyed" and all units report as "unit ready", "airborne unit ready" or "naval unit ready" - except the demo truck/MAD tank which I felt it was very important to hear about (plus they're easy splices). So unfortunately you will have to pay attention to chat announcements more. I will be working on an alternate version with voice splices to make these announcements more helpful; I had many splices done in the Gamma version of this mod, but since Delta makes use of more previously-unused EVA voices and even splices a few new ones, there are still some more announcements that need redoing in the classic voice. Keep your eyes peeled! If the sound of the Gamma EVA really irks you (and I know it does to some people) or you're looking for a nostalgia injection, then this is for you. To install this mod, unzip all the files to APB's /data directory. To uninstall, delete every file with "eva_" at the start. If you can't find this directory, then take the following steps: Open the game Open the Task Manager Go to Processes tab, right-click game.exe and Open File Location Navigate to /data from there
