Camping rarely gets a team a win, even if the attackers don't destroy much. Besides, you are the only one that uses that cheap 'tactic'. Even when the entire team camps, there's still times you slip through and take out a def even if we kill you and think you didn't through one, only to find out you did in fact throw one.
-
This is one of two 'tactics' I'd want removed or nerfed if I may by honest. All of the other methods usually have you NOT wanting to die without at least doing some damage or a chance to get away.
-
You'd be surprised by how many maps this tactic can be viable in even the smallest of ways. There are even some places in maps (like Industrial Strength) where one can just toss dynamite on to the defenses, back off, call for !ammo and wait for it to blow before repeating. Besides, the grizzly is rather agile and has a very fast acceleration. Especially on maps where it can exploit tunnels. (Mt. Pass comes to mind for this). I'd say either turn it into some form of beacon without an announcement, or give it a firing delay of 1-2 seconds and a greatly reduced throwing range.
-
I don't think I'm the only one when it comes to complaining about how Dynamite in game is too powerful. I can't begin to count the number of times even a well grouped number of defenses fail to stop one single person from wearing them down by rushing them with a cheap tank and a cheap infantry unit with dynamite. There are even spots where it can be thrown and is impossible to disarm and is guaranteed to kill at least one or even two defenses. Is it possible to change the dynamite from a C4 deploying style to that of a beacon? That way they have to stand still and subject themselves to the defenses attacks and risk dying for nothing gained without the defenders having to constantly be alert and watch for such tactics?

These players were just recently team hampering GDI on the map Mt. Pass by spamming dynamite and even beacons to break open an incredibly large hole within the walls surrounding the base. Personally, I find making any holes within the walls questionable at best, but to the degree this went was far beyond just getting the team faster access out of the base and into personal trolling territory. Here are some screenshots and the chat log of that round. client_3-1-2019 (Edited).txt

Could you change the way team balance is handled?
ganein14 replied to Mighty Mycroft's topic in Interim Apex AOW
I see where you're coming from, and believe it or not, there are times I still feel the same way, even with how many recommendations I have. To be honest, recommendations don't really amount to all that much other than letting others know who's good and who's yet to prove themselves. The secret is in learning the weak points of units, what units/weapons counter what units. Using the correct unit against another can pretty much shut down another if you know where to strike. Another key, is trying to be efficient with the money you have. Do you put what you have into researching upgrades at the cost of not having much to defend the base with? Do you buy the most expensive units in the hopes of doing some permanent damage to the enemy base? Or do you go for something in the middle of the two? No one unit is good against everything. There are some that come close to that, but at a great cost in some way for it. Try to experiment with different units and where you're striking the enemy. Who knows? Maybe you'll have an ahha moment. -
Best? You implying that there's more than one FRAYDO? Last I checked that's Heresy in my book.

I've also come to have a problem with how the defenses can't really defend themselves or the base they surround. I can understand units like the H/MRLS, howitzers, and such being able to out range base defenses. But when units like the Sheridan, ADATS, Infrared, and Stritzvagn can out range them and even the AGT/OB, the pinnacles of base defense, I begin to question why have them. Also on the topic of EMP grenades. I have noticed that the EMP effect from the crates disables movement, but allows the tanks to fire and defend themselves. Whereas the EMP grenade completely shuts down the tank, leaving it unable to move or defend itself. And just how many units have access to said grenades right from the start of their purchase over how often an EMP crate happens?

Funnily enough, I'm in the same boat as danpaul.

Would it hurt to send EA an email? At worst they'd just say no I believe

Expansive Civilian Warfare ECW Game/User Guide
ganein14 replied to Threve's topic in W3D Hub Discussion
This is a great thing to have going Threve, though I think some of the things are intended to be secret. Though that's @Jerad2142's call. -
Don't forget the mech spam and sneaky tanyas...
-
Neither usually. My Steam account is on almost all the time though.
-
Will do that right now. Update: Nope, it started to download something, but it said that it failed to download something....
-
No, I did what was told of me and I still can't join the server. Short of doing a complete reinstall of IA, I'm at a loss of what to do.
-
Sorry for the delay, was apart of the Centurylink outage. No, running the game.exe itself as admin fixes nothing. Either through the launcher or the game itself. I can play it in LAN mode just fine, its connecting to the servers itself is the problem
-
I have that as default for the launcher, but without being able to find the local file, I can't run the game itself as an admin.
-
Yes, that did nothing.
-
This is what I'm getting. I was able to play before @dblaney1 made a hot fix to things and this is what I'm getting. There's no option to update my client from the launcher either.
-
For some reason, there are new files on the server, but the W3D launcher won't download them. It only says that it fails to download them and nothing more. Also, there is no local file created that the launcher can find and open up. I don't know if this applies to others, but if so, I'd like it to be known. If not, then I'd like to know how I fucked something up without doing anything to it.

Loving the changes being made all around! Would the Tib growth machine affect all colors of tib? And if you build more than one, will it speed up how fast it grows?
-
Please for the love of everyone's sanity, at least learn how to use periods.

I was Pushwall, and it SUUUUUUUCKED!!!!! Not to mention the constant harassment from Longbows and you'd be lucky to have just one mammoth tank with full health to take the brunt of the turret fire, let alone half.
