  1. For me it's a combination of having less time do to adulthood. I have a 9-5 with travel it's more of a 8-6 and an 18th month old. I know how to use the tools and while I've never created content to delta standards I do understand how it's done. And the second for me is simply not having the tools work properly (3ds max) on windows 10, this kills any motivation I still have. I don't have an easy way to switch back to windows 7 just for one program.
  2. I came into this thread planning on suggesting the rocket solider and grenadier be combined, but it seems that pushwall has already considered this and is experimenting with it. I’m not going to pretend I have a good grasp on the overlap and strengths/weakness of the current soviet infantry. However, I’ve always imagined the flame trooper as a anti infantry unit and the grenadier as the counter part of the allied rocket solider. When the actual soviet rocket trooper was added, I felt like he could have just as well been a rebranded grenadier with a grenade launcher.
  3. NorthByNorthwest TheWoodsToday ShallowGrave IvoryWastelands APathBeyond AlpineLake AlliedAssault Volcano In that order, will give my reasons in a little bit
  4. I remember seeing this on "Games you might not have heard of" by extra credits looks cool. Would be more fun in LAN for sure
  5. Pretty much this. Though I'm not afraid to admit that I enjoyed sniping pre-Delta, this is what thinned out servers. The winning team usually ended up prolonging an already one-sided game (depending on who had the more skilled players, of course), causing players from the losing team to just leave the game (and probably not rejoin after a while because of said prolonged game). And lol, Beta SVD... Hey the beta SVD was a fun challenge! But yeah as much as I liked sniping in beta, I agree.
  6. When I was between 6-8 my friend brought over red alert. I thought it was cool to watch but I didn't understand how to play it at all. Fast forward to 2004~ and I saw a copy of RA2 at another friends house and borrowed it. I got really into it and one day I saw the expansion at the store "bundled with TS and renegade" so I bought it. Never really played TS but I did try renegade. Of course renegade never worked well "ati rage pro" graphics card. Probably a Pentium 2 processor but I could play the first mission. In 2005 my parents bought us a new pc. Was a Pentium 4. I ended up getting a lot more games, just as KOTOR and Jedi Knight. I also got into this Petz game for a little bit and found a lot of custom content for it which eventually lead me to realize that the same may be true for other games. So I discovered mods for RA2 and that rabbit hole lead me to search for mods for every game I had Including renegade. I found apb in late 2005 but didn't play online until late 2006 There was definitely no server when I first played. I hosted a game and someone actually joined and told me the game was moving to battlefield 2 engine several months later I checked again and found the conflict area's server.
  7. I play in 2560x1080 I don't think I had to do anything special for that
  8. Take the hard drive and ram out of the laptop and see if the screen comes on when powering it on If it does, add either the ram or the hard drive back. When it stops working the last part you put in is bad. If it doesn't work from the beginning it's the motherboard or CPU. You can then follow the above advice but honestly I'd just start saving for a new laptop.
  9. Well yeah I think that is most of it. But the fact that it happened to so many people at around the same time does make it look like something more.
  10. Logmein works pretty well too, definitely more expensive then free though
  11. Welp, didin't move to Fiber land but:
  12. Oh him... He was unbeatable. I used to think he was part cyborg. Oh, I once took down his volkov with a single rifle solider on ridgewar. One of the two biggest highlights of my APB life What was the OTHER one? Killing Cuddling's allied sniper 3 times in a row with my soviet sniper. You know back when the soviet sniper had the accuracy of a musket and the firepower of a pellet gun.

  14. Yeah, if you count of all time I'd say: a1ph4riu5 I think he was all around the best player, or at least top 5
  15. I feel like all the good players I'm scared of aren't around anymore, as far as current player base goes. Silverlight, because of the above reasons.
  16. I haven't had that issue in it. This is usually only an issue for wheeled vehicles.
  17. Not sure what you mean by dial up, sounds like your trying to use the phone as a hotspot/tethering? I would tether if possible, it should be more stable I don't know how TS is but when I play yuri's revenge over a lan connection about 50% of my games have at least one player booted, haven't played online as much though so I cant say about that I assume the networking in the games is quite similar.
  18. Didin't filefront change hands several times? I remember the original owner buying it back at some point? I guess that didn't last...
  19. Work Home I don't mind this since I only pay $29.99 a month, in a few months when I move I'm bout to get that google fiber
  20. I have a few things from apb/renegade on filefront, I do wonder how many communities are trying to download everything from filefront now...
  21. I think TWT is much better then bonsai, I mean what exactly do you mean by similar? Gameplay? theme?
