Hey @trunkskgb So you have to see when Renegade was first release it was so buggy and crashing was like a normal thing like bluehell when you 2 vehicles bump into each other + lag causes that. Now as TT progresses and issued fixes and clean up codes, some stuff starts to kick in. ID Conflict ( Relatively easy to fix but before TT 4.0 came out you can play a map with a conflicted ID ) is something like if you have a preset with the same ID with another preset. Scripts, some script might be missing from the map which dates from 2003, I do not know if the author use scripts or not at all, but if there are, it is a possibility there is a custom script. Texture, not quite sure about it as I notice one time I had a texture in it but it was not displaying in the game. I cannot recall how I fix it. I think i saved it as dds. Failed to load certain music/sound files. So basically 15 years ago, Renegade was kinda buggy and messed up. The author made this map without knowing it will be broken down the road as during that time it works. So after TT issued fixes and check for some errors or critical issue regarding the map, the game will not launch due to some critical errors with the map which may result in a server crash or client crashing. Like for example Ravine map earlier is crashing because the preset looking for the music file is missing, so the game crash and provide the errors msg. But this is only on the Renegade side, you may also have to thing about your computer hardware and software like what @Raptor29aa mentioned. Although this is very unlikely and safe to say this is a rare case scenario becauses since majority can run renegade unless you decide to go 4k or beyond that resolution, someone told me his renegade crash at 4k resolution about 5 years ago.

He was the one who stated : "Basically VIS is like dealing with the devil." ? I love to deal with VIS but it can be very annoying almost all the time. And yes I SUFFERED from VIS lol. That is why 1 map like my Infinite Isle took 8 months to polish the VIS. Redo again and again.

Keep on waiting then Unless all the sudden TeamWolf got funded roughly a few millions USD he can hire a team to get assets rolling oun and within next 8 months all will be good. That is IF, somehow BfD is funded. ( Few millions USD of course ) But the reality is not fantasy, and unfortunately we are in reality and it takes time. So the questions is? When will it be done? Your answer is very simple, just keep waiting and eyes peel open wide. Period. and no begging to become a tester to play it in alpha ? *woohoo 100 post :D*

Whoa it seems like someone decided to messed up vis REAL BAD. There is two possibility for this, either the VIS is generated and he removed the vis in w3d file from the map when if he re-export the map for whatever reason, I kinda have this issue before. Or He auto generate vis and stop it before its completion. I think you can just discard vis and see if the map is shown in Level Editor. You can regenerate vis but it will probably leave your PC for 12 hours + or more depending on your quality proficiency in vis generation and how things work.' I am pretty sure is a VIS issue because you can walk on the platform and it seems physical and camera collisions were there. As for texture I am not sure, if the texture were in the mix file it should be there but if it wasn't is hard to fix, unless you know what your doing with it. btw is way is hard to find proper scale and proportionate map. Long story short Vis is like negotiating with the devil even or those who has experience with it you may have a hard time to tackle it. But if you manage to get it right it makes the map run very smooth and performance optimize.

I doubt so, since TT 5.0 was designed not to be compatible with TT 4.x.x, when designing it, it wasn't take into account ( as how i was informed/told ) to be based off Renegade, it was design from sketch with all the renegade scripts removed like what @Raap mentioned. One thing to note, that TT 5.0 support DirectX 11 ( or DirectX 11.1 ) where Renegade support up to DirectX 9.0c. So requirement are vastly different from TT4.0 and TT5.0 But when your referring as more stable as in how? Technically Level Editor on my end is stable ( do note I am still using he very same Level Editor from MPF ) except that I do not use more than 3.87gb memory ram ( on my end which is 4GB ) on the Level Editor or else it will definitely crash. I usually crash when I am doing pathfind generation which most of my time on overhuge ( includes depth, oceans and very high sky ceiling map, will most likely exceed 4GB and I have to improvise to find way to prevent going beyond 4.0GB or closed to 3.87gb.

Like what Moonsense715 said, you put negative -1 means it is infinite. But you can still manually reload if you want to.

@trunkskgb Hi trunkskgb Well it doesn't work because the stealth suit spawn powerup is blank. If you take a look at the info/ script tab at the preset. There is nothing, so the game do not know what to do with it. In lan it doesn't work because there is no script attached to it. However, on the server is a different thing, as the server side had a code or a plugin that tells "POW_Stealth_Suit" provide stealth to the player who picked it up. You will be good to go to put on a server which I presume will be at MPF and it will surely work. Unless you decided to temp out "POW_Stealth_Suit" into something like "My_Stealth_Suit" I do not think it will work unless you attached a script to it which unfortunately I am not sure what script or the server side plugin to find "My_Stealth_Suit" to have stealth provided when pick up. I hope this helps

I had good memories with him in designing levels, he was the one that help me planted the seed to start IA, it started way back when I was making Nuclear Winter map with ai bots and Renegade map with ai bots. It is unfortunate that his passing happened. I guess is just a matter of time that things comes and go. May his last thoughts were at peace and happiness.

Hi Boys and Girls, I will be in charge of this topic regarding EXIMIUS, long story short. Eximius is a RTS-FPS hybrid that was heavily inspired by the cancelled "Tiberium", CoH/DoW and SC. Gameplay features The game is similar to C&C Renegade " Protect and Destroy" another winning condition are Control Point which were inspired by Company of Heroes series. A match consist of 1 Commander and 4 Officers, the Commander are the one who will be deciding what to build and manage the units, he can even join in the firefight. The officers are the backbone of the army who will lead the squad into firefight. Resources are Cash, Energy, and Ammunition. These resources are important as some of them require for purchasing structures, upgrades, units and support abilities. Well as long you have the game Renegade is all good to go. That is of course if you install it and patch it up to latest TT.4.x.x. I wanted to be standalone but you know EA didn't make renegade as freeware. I got to have black and white papers from EA as permission to make it standalone. Is not that easy to get that permission. Surprise is not ? No but there is Will of Kane. Interim Apex took place between Tiberian Dawn ( or Late Tiberian Dawn/Renegade ) and Tiberian Sun. I am pretty sure I do not need to explain where is kane after the Temple of Nod has been destroyed by GDI via Particle Cannon or just normal bombardment. As easy to said but this I think need some work to implement it.

Hi Jarmo, thank you for coming over here. There was a mod called Sole Survivor for Renegade as a mod but I was not around that time, which I have no idea how was it. I did download a dll files from the internet for warcraft 3 as it was oddly missing 1 file to start, what I did was that I google the file and download and the game works. Before that it couldn't start stating that a "x".dll files is missing. Anyway thanks for sharing as I'll keep in mind before downloading random files, I always do some research like "X" is missing "Z" files before actually download something. With Google, today you can almost get anything by just simply googling it. -

Hi and welcome Commander Jack, thank you for your compliment. For your question regarding about having error or cannot join the server I think there is a number of possibilities why you could not join. 1. It could be your client side had stumble a corrupted file. When you join a server your renegade will download the server plugin/map/features and many more. I would suggest that you need to delete all the files located at %appdata%/Roaming/Renegade/Client/ttfs. But be warned, as you may have to re download all the other files you had on other server if you are a regular player there. 2. I am very sorry but I have to say you are using a primitive computer to play such as Pentium 3/4 with extremely old, low end video card. I encounter a player who said he had a Pentium 3 ,64 or 128mb of RAM barely able to play my maps with over 40 different kind of vehicles at one point of the map. 3. Are you from China? I encounter many [Dragon] clan member player who had issue joining the server because they have to bypass The Great Firewall which you can learn more here. Or if your country have these installed to protect their citizen. 4. An extremely rare issue I found out many years ago, some weird reason my Norton Anti Virus is not letting me to join a server, this issue was ages ago lets say 2007-2008? But I doubt today anti virus will block you from connecting to a server, no harm disabling it and trying it out. -

My guess is that your Renegade game with the C&C_Ridgeline_b8 has the script.dll in there while your Level Editor on another hand doesn't have the script.dll in it. Your using z_base_defenses which is a Zunnie script, but if your Level editor is the same like 5 years ago back in mpf it should work fine unless you reinstall your Level Editor than you might not have that custom script anymore. Currently I am using dp88_ai_turret and ra_base_defense_simple for base defenses. For capturable silos and repair pad I am using dblaney custom script. I do not have any capturable defenses in my map/mod. EDITED : I forget i had capturable base defenses in my map/mod totally forget about it, please refer the post below.

I think his referring to an addon I created long ago. There was at least 4 maps with bots which I re-import it in, add bots, tank waypoints and export it out back. http://www.moddb.com/games/cc-renegade/addons From my experience is not so easy if you coming from no understanding how video games level editor work. However, so far I think Reborn only have 1 map with bots is the infantry map only I cannot recall what name was it but I do recall it being played in Infantry Beta.

Saw it on a review tech page for some reason and they said is from the creators of (Moba) Warhammer 40k Dawn of War 3 and (not so good) Company of Heroes 2. But I remember these 2 games has pay to unlock units/armies. Dawn of War 3 and CoH was a huge disappointment for me personally.
