Well beings as the launcher is required to download and install the games, this adds several extra steps. One could download and install on a windows PC, and then in theory copy the games over to a linux install and then run a direct connect shortcut probably. I believe someone a while back did verify that the games themselves can run under linux (in wine of course). I could be mistaken though.

There's a problem with the ingame count showing up on the launcher sometimes if thats what you're going by. Check ingame to see how many people are actually there. But this time of year, I do imagine people traveling quite a bit.

I believe that the "ERR" part means error. @someone who knows, isn't this the file that holds text strings, like what gets put in the chat when certain things happen such as achievements or map-specific instructions or something? I could be totally off, idk.

I'm probably wrong.....but I think thats some sort of issue with your "strings.tdb" file maybe...? I've seen that before and I'm trying to remember, I think it was related to that.

Hello and welcome to W3D-Hub! I know that at one time there was some work being done by Omar007 (one of our staff) on getting this working, but I'm not sure what progress he made on it. The launcher was coded by danpaul88, and because of some things he used, it is not able to run in wine (yet). I believe that Omar found a way but I don't believe it ever got implemented. Anyone that knows more want to chime in?

Hey! That reminds me of a tool i use every other day! A simple reg edit that adds a context menu option to take ownership of any file or folder! Really straight forward, and since these are .reg files, you can inspect their contents yourself if you don't trust it TakeOwnership Context.zip

Yeah good times, I liked that map as well Blue hell is simply the area under the map itself. I think the reason it would happen is that there was some bug with the engine not being able to determine the location of a unit (vehicle or infantry) when it would collide with certain objects, and because of some bad math (?) then it would end up teleporting them through the map! You can also get there by falling off the edge or just finding a large enough terrain hole Someone that knows more may want to correct me on that first part but I think thats the jist of it.

I know Can't resist taking a jab when i see opportunity. I'll do it someday, just not this round.
