News Tiberian Dawn: Ground Zero Official Announcement

Keep 'em coming! -
I'm still happily playing Nyerguds patched Tiberian Dawn online, hope the Harvester has better pathfinding in the remaster.
-
I want Starvos and Einstein as playable units.

I always like having a pet dog in games. If it's being AI controlled, make every Soviet player can purchase their own attack dog and can order it to hold pos or follow by interacting with it or like a simplified version of ECW's pet commands. They can be a good canine companion for rocket soldiers or shock troopers to deal with enemy infantry that comes out of a destroyed vehicle. Or tell them to stay put to defend an area so AP mines isn't the only option against intruders. They will automatically attack nearby Allied infantry (spy disguise is unaffected obviously). If it's player controlled, barking is a must. And the ability to pounce. Either way, the ability to purchase them is tied to the kennel. One can still buy dogs when the barracks is gone. I think they should be cheap, like $200 since they should die easily to the (free) Rifle Soldier but shouldn't die easily to pistols so rocket soldiers, snipers, spies/thieves/engineer/medic/mechanic wouldn't be powerful against them. I like how they are in Red Alert, non-combat classes and rocket soldiers are helpless against them, riflemen kill them easily and Tanya can easily kill them or the other way around if the Tanya player doesn't hit them (depends on how you can accurately left-click on the dog).

News EA announces interest in remastering Command & Conquer games!
Cat replied to OWA's topic in Community News
Support the classics! The only thing I want to see changed in a remaster are bug fixes, compatibility for newer windows and better harvester pathfinding. Don't fix anything that's not broken. And I would like to see a Sole Survivor remastered. -
Expansive Civilian Warfare Hawkeye is Live! (Patch 1.2.1.1)

Great update. I really love the MRJ being 600 dollars again ^ ^ Good memories in the good old days... My my Time Flies...

I don't see comparing this game to another FPS game being a reason to remove pistols. I was just saying my opinion why I think having pistols are good, but I don't really expect it would change anything and I can still live without them.
-
I dislike multi-role units too (even cringe that all units in RA3 have abilities) but making the game exactly like Red Alert wouldn't be fun, that's why the med/light tank price got changed, destroyers being worse submarine killers than gunboats, spies got pistols, grenadiers got a different role, etc. Things were changed to adjust to the FPS environment and balance underused units from the RTS. I'm still in favor of the units having the same weakness like their RTS counterparts but at least give the non-combat classes a pistol for light personal protection so at least there's a bit of variety for them and make it more fun.

Rocket soldiers and medics still need protection from other units even if they have pistols! I dont see why a character shouldn't have pistols as sidearm.

What makes a true C&C game: It has the C&C title slapped on it. It's produced officially by the company holding its license. What makes a good C&C game: Primary resource collection is done by harvesting/mining/anything-equivalent. You can easily produce units/army/base using the limited resources. Destroying base power being a good and simple alternative to weaken an enemy base. It has a storyline and campaign. It's not complicated, confusing and boring to the point my judgement tells me to stop playing it. If a C&C doesn't have the 5 criteria above, I'm still fine to accept it being a good C&C game (or at least a good spin-off) as long as it has something unique that appealed to me. The reason is because I think C&C should not be limited to RTS base-building game only, it can branch out into other game genres like Renegade being a shooter game, Sole Survivor being a deathmatch game, etc. (Just my opinion)

He was one of the friendliest person when I was new to this community. Wish I could test his TCW when he invited me and spend more time talking to him. RIP zunnie, Still playing on the C&C3 Steam you gift me.

Feedback Infantry - Lack of C4, lack of weapons.
Cat replied to Suspense's topic in W3D Hub Discussion
Wouldn't that be the MP5 or something like it? Sounds good for characters to have secondary weapons but I think all should have the weakest pistol. I don't want a Medic or Technician to be more powerful than a Rifle Soldier that's run out of primary ammo, they should be like equal in terms of firepower. -
I know this new C&C Rivals isn't half as good as most other C&C games but can anyone tell me what's so bad about it (sorry if it's a dumb question). I myself am not interested in it one bit (i dont even like mobile games nor played one) but I can see it only as a spin-off made for fun like Sole Survivor, Renegade, Tiberium Alliances. It's not even a main storyline game so I don't find this new game any more disappointing than Tiberian Twilight.

Expansive Civilian Warfare Visitors to San Casina

Regarding the Volkov issue again, I haven't played Red Alert singleplayer for some time but I still remember Volkov's loadout: Silenced AT Cannon (used in Soldier Volkov & Chitzoi and Deus Ex Machina) Silenced Handgun (used in Lets make a Steal and Test Drive) Incendiary Rounds (fired from an unidentified silenced firearm, used in Situation Critical) C4 (used in all his mission appearances except Test Drive) I'm okay with his role right now, being a fast running and healing infantry having small pieces of other infantry combined into one. His AT gun should be a weaker and non-hitscan version of shock trooper's tesla coil, the silenced pistol (or the current AP cannon primary) should be a lower-range and weaker version of Dragunov and the Incendiary Rounds (AP secondary) being a weaker version of grenade/flamethrower . I don't mind his 3-round artillery burst gets removed as that's no where being a weaker version of any infantry weapon, I rather let him have the Engineer's C4 if we want to make him dangerous against buildings. And his binoculars stays.

Games Just thought about a Tiberian Dawn Mod...
Cat replied to Metaridley's topic in W3D Hub Discussion
The Tib Dawn Nod light tank is based on an M2 Bradley. I always wanted a TD version of Renegade since I always play TD online and admire the cutscene/manual render units, weapons and even the uniforms. -
good job, Hasak!
